Prior to 2013, I had been unemployed for 2 years, so imagine my excitement when I realized that I could actually afford to buy Christmas presents this year.

Even better, I could buy things for myself!  I took advantage of a one-day sale on Amazon.com and purchased a Kindle Fire hdx and began downloading apps -- mostly art-centric.

One of my favorite apps so far is called Picasso - Kaleidoscope Draw! by DPs World.  In fact, I may be downright obsessed.

Would you believe me?

If I told you that I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art*?

What's your favorite game for Kindle or similar device?

I tend to enjoy mindless pursuits, so I'm having a good time with Ultimate Jewel by Balloon Island.

I have tried Candy Crush, by King.com -- and like it -- but I don't like the time restrictions that pop up after failing to complete an assignment a few times.

Do you have any mindless -- and hopefully free -- suggestions for me?

Personally, I think Ms. Underwood deserves a thumbs up for bravery.  No matter what you thought of her performance, she's definitely not a coward.

Can You Dig It?

I don't know if you can tell, but I have an interest in vegetable gardening.  I'm not a very good gardener, but I enjoy the challenge and always have high hopes for success.  I'm also fond of doing things unconventionally -- like posting random (and sometimes pointless) blog comments that are, at best, months past relevance -- so when I discovered the unconventional gardening YouTube channel of Praxxus55712, I was in heaven.  I think I might try to follow his suggestions this year to see if I can get my much-loved carbon and Cherokee tomatoes to flourish.
