My Black Friday had a Happy Ending

Want to see my big Black Friday deal?

I bought the second season of "Happy Endings" on DVD for $7.99 and I didn't even have to leave my house or trample anyone's grandma to do it. Hooray for the Internet!

Would you like to hear a lame and belated limerick?

A spritely nymph called Miley Cyrus,
both vomitous and vaguely desirous,
dry-humped Betelgeuse
while a fringed, furry moose*
twerked despite a case of mono virus.

(*And by "moose," I mean "bear".)

Where are the giant people-eating sandworms when you need them?

That poor bear clearly needs bed rest and lots of liquids.

Black Friday

Would you harm another human being in order to get a good deal on something you want but don't really need?

If so, why?

P.S.  I have a message for you:

Vintage Selfie

Did you know that the first known photographic portrait was taken by Robert Cornelius of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1839?  It was a self-portrait, taken in front of his family's lamp-making business on 8th Street, between Market and Chestnut.

Here he is years later...

Who Wears Short Shorts?

Gentlemen, if you were suddenly transported 100 years back in time and then forced to go swimming, which stylish bathing suit would you choose to wear?

The wool shirted bathing suit...

Or the early Speedo?

Home Sweet Home

Would you rather live in a mud hut...

A gypsy caravan...

A yurt...

A hobbit house...

Or a castle in the sea/sky?

Pop Diva Challenge

Do you think Lily Allen has improved upon, weakened, carried on, or simply copied Pink's message condemning the sexual objectification of women in modern culture?

Lily Allen's "Hard Out Here" video from 2013.

Pink's "Stupid Girls" video from 2006.

Munchies, anyone?

Feeling hungry?

It doesn't become any less bizarre when you realize it's a foot, does it?

Throw Another Blog on the Fire?

Imagine that you started a blog 2 years ago and then your computer promptly died.  You were out of work at the time and unable to buy a replacement computer, so your blog died too.

Now imagine that you were once again employed and you had a new-ish computer and you decided to start another blog and, all of a sudden, your computer started turning itself off at indiscriminate times.

Would you begin to believe that the Great Blogoshere was trying to tell you to get lost and stay lost?

Crying Fowl

Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near?

2013 is the 50th anniversary of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds.

Time flies, eh?

Full Frontal Fruit

Do you think my tomato looks like a penis?

Want a couple suggestions on where to buy organic/heirloom seeds that will grow tomatoes that look like tomatoes?  Try these:

For a wider -- and slightly more expensive -- variety, go here:

Baker Creek gives you a free packet of seeds with every order!

NOTE:  I am not affiliated with either of these seed companies, but I have done business with them for years and I have nothing but positive things to say about them.

What Does the Fox Say?

Enquiring [sic] minds want to know!

Apparently, these Ylvis guys don't know how to use the search function on Youtube because, if they did, they'd have found the above video and wouldn't have had to write the song below...

Who you gonna call?

I know I just missed Halloween, but I thought I'd ask this anyway:

Would you rather go ghost hunting with Zak Bagans of Ghost Adventures...

or Karl Beattie of Most Haunted?

X Files vs. The Walking Dead

Would you rather discover definitive proof that aliens exist...

...or would you rather discover that you have what it takes to survive a zombie apocalypse?
